This is an exceptionally beautiful large blanc de chine porcelain figurine entitled "Madonna" designed by the renowned Austrian sculptor Ida Schwetz-Lehmann, a member of the Wiener Werkstätte, for the Augarten Manufactury in Vienna, Austria in 1933.
Pieces by Ida Schwetz-Lehmann are housed in many museums and are highly sought after by collectors. The piece is signed on the bottom with the Augarten crown, shield and Wien stamp, the initials "ISL", 1715/1, a letter "L" and is marked "Made in Austria".
